Finals and Grand Finals (27/28 August)

Hi all,

Well done to our teams who have qualified for their respective Grand Finals. We have our under 13A's and our under 18A's both contesting their grand finals this week with other teams either qualified or playing their grand final qualifier this week.

Our under 18's finished third in the league and after defeating Scots FC in their semi final had to beat a Banksia Tigers in the final last week to make the Grand Final. Banksia Tigers had only lost one previous game all season which was the previous week against Carrs Park in the major semi final. Our lads took the game to Banksia and came out on top 4-2 to give Banksia successive defeats and for our guys to go through to meet Carss Park in the Grand Final.

They will play at Scarborough North Park at 12:15 so please everyone try and get out there and support the team.

In what has to be one of the most anticipated grand finals in the St George Association our under 13A's team have a fierce battle ahead of them against minor premier Connells Point this Saturday. Three weeks ago Connells Point defeated Sans Souci 3-1 in the final game of the season to win the minor premiership and qualify for Champion of Champions.

Sans Souci then overturned that result the following week to win the major semi final 1-0 to go through to the grand final. They will now meet again for the third and final instalment with the winner to be crownded grand final champions for 2011.

There has been nothing between these teams all season, with Connells Point only losing 1 game all year and Sans Souci only losing 2 games all year. They finished first and second on the ladder and now play their third game in a month against each other.

For the early birds our under 13's play at 8:45am at Bicentennial Stadium Rockdale this Saturday.
